Bio

I graduated from Flomaton High School in 1989 and went to Troy University on Drama Scholarship. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in English/Secondary Education at Alabama State University. I received my Master's in Teaching at Grand Canyon University and a second master's degree in Instructional Leadership at the University of West Alabama. I taught at private school before working in public school. I started teaching public school at W.S. Neal High School in East Brewton, AL in 2005. I was there until my family moved to Prattville in 2014. I taught at Capital Heights Middle School in Montgomery and at Selma High School before moving to Prattville High School in 2017. This is my fourth year teaching Senior English at Marbury High School. I have been married to my husband, Eric Jerkins, since 1991. Eric works as security at MHS.  We have two children, Cierra and Ayden. Cierra also works at MHS as the ISS teacher, is married to JD Prince, and is expecting her first child in January, 2022.   Ayden is in the 8th grade at Marbury Middle School, where he plays football and basketball. We love  spending time with family and friends at Lake Martin  and watching Alabama football. We also love watching Ayden play ball and look forward to many years of Marbury Football and Basketball in his future. Go Bulldogs and Roll Tide!!
